This coming weekend is SilentSidelines weekend for all travel soccer games in Connecticut. The New Milford Soccer Club asks that parents do their best to recognize its importance.
This means that all spectators other than coaches should refrain from making comments to players, coaches, or referees. Positive applause is still allowed and even encouraged.
By exhibiting silence on the sidelines we give players a game that is free from the distractions caused by screaming and yelling. The intent is that our children get the chance to just play and make decisions and learn from mistakes on their own.
While the program is only fully in effect this weekend please consider the importance of independent learning during play throughout the season and realize the role we as parents have as role models all year.
